The Adult Attention Deficit Disorders Evaluation Scale (A-ADDES) enables private and clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals to evaluate and diagnose Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in adults from input provided by a self-report, a supervisor or co-worker in the workplace, and a significant other in the home environment.
The A-ADDES was developed from research in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder; current literature in psychology and neurology; and current practices in identification and diagnosis. The subscales, Inattentive and Hyperactive-Impulsive, are based on the current characteristics of ADHD. The results provided by the scale are commensurate with criteria used by psychiatric professionals to identify Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in adults. The scale is available in three versions: Self-Report, a reporting form for the patient; Home, a reporting form for spouse, roommate, or friend; and Work, a reporting form for supervisors or co-workers. Internal consistency, test-retest, and inter-rater reliability; item and factor analysis; and content, diagnostic, and construct validity are documented and reported for the scale.
The Adult Attention Deficit Disorders Intervention Manual (A-ADDIM) was designed to be used by the mental health professional and the client/patient to develop a program of behavioral interventions based on goals and objectives identified from the A-ADDES. The client/patient has over 400 intervention strategies to choose from to facilitate his/her successful completion of the goals and objectives identified.
